Climate and weather in Afghanistan
Afghanistan has a harsh climate of the continental type and the severity of winter is accentuated by the altitude of much of the country. Summers everywhere are warm, except in the highest areas. At lower levels temperatures sometimes rise very high indeed.
Summer temperatures in the plains can reach 46 degrees Celsius (115 degrees Fahrenheit) while in the higher plateaux winter temperatures can fall to -26 degrees Celsius (-15 degrees Fahrenheit).
The month with the wettest weather is March when on balance 91 mm (3.6 in) of rainfall (precipitation) occurrs across 10 days.
Political climate allows you to make a trip, the most pleasant time to explore Afghanistan is spring or autumn, in particular April to early June and September through October.
